A meme, of sorts, that Nerd told me to do.

favorite flavor icee: they just taste like ice most of the time.
what sexual position would you prefer while fucking philip seymour hoffman: dude.
if you wouldn't fuck philip seymour hoffman why do you think I should still like you: because I really like philip seymour hoffman.
when is the last time you got laid: you said I didn't really have to answer this.
how does it feel to be more frigid than a k-mart icee: "you act like a slut but you're really a freeezer"
why don't you update your lj regularly: I don't want to talk about icees, okay.
what songs/albums should I download: 'With You In My Head" by UNKLE...uh, some Dead Weather?
what movies should I see besides inception: well, this guy who got stuck on a malfunctioning ride with me and Shep told me to see The Last Airbender, but clearly he was kind of an idiot. in all seriousness, I have yet to see Toy Story 3 and would like to, maybe with some of you hos.
I ______ therefore, I am: change
what's on your bucket list: fucking novels.
what are you currently doing to achieve these goals: uh, writing shit.
what is wrong with you: suddenly varying levels of insecurity.

I have all these thoughts about like, marriage and my own relationship and relationships in general to get off my chest, but whenever I sit down to type/rant about it it feels badly timed, no matter who I'm telling about it.

Something like fireworks.

"I realized that to make an R all I had to do was first write a P and draw a line down from its loop. And I was so surprised that I could turn a yellow letter into an orange letter just by adding a line."

Cytowic calls sound → color synesthesia "something like fireworks": voice, music, and assorted environmental sounds such as clattering dishes or dog barks trigger color and simple shapes that arise, move around, and then fade when the sound stimulus ends.

One synesthete says, "T’s are generally crabbed, ungenerous creatures. U is a soulless sort of thing. 4 is honest, but… 3 I cannot trust… 9 is dark, a gentleman, tall and graceful..."

"Whenever I hear, read, or articulate (inner speech) words or word sounds, I experience an immediate and involuntary taste sensation on my tongue. These very specific taste associations never change and have remained the same for as long as I can remember."

Reply to this meme by yelling 'WORDS!', and I will give you five words that remind me of you.
Then post them in your journal and explain what they mean to you.

from Kitty:

I have tactile pet peeves/likes that seem really weird to other people, and I have a lot of them. And yet whenever this comes up I can never think of a good example...

(baseball tee)
I'm not sure why I got this. I unfortunately don't even currently own one, but I do like them and think they look great on pretty much anybody. There's a good photo of Chris Pine in a Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers baseball t-shirt which my mind immediately runs to. No, I swear, the guy isn't my type.

(french toast)
"I want some FREEEnch toast." Shep apparently makes good french toast but has this joke about refusing to make me any "until we get married." Yes, the man is BRIBING me with BREAKFAST.

Why the hell kangaroos? I don't know, marsupials are pretty cool. Kangaroos make me think of Australia, where I don't want to go because baseball-sized spiders aren't really my thing. PSA: The Rescuers Down Under still holds up well and is way better than Rescuers, IMO.

Yeah, yeah, I look like the Puffs Plus kids. It's that time of year again, too. When it's cold my wittle nose has a tendency to get red for prolonged periods of time and I guess people find this adorable or something.

For the first time in my entire life I'm a little depressed about the holidays coming up cause I just don't think I can afford to buy many gifts at all this year. And unless it can somehow work out for our family to celebrate Christmas like a week away from the actual day, I'm not gonna see Shep or his family on x-mas because his peeps are doing a huge reunion in Oklahoma City.
I wish I could think of even one like REAL CHRISTMAS MOVIE that I am all that fond of. I like Love Actually but to me the holidays are just kind of in the background in that. I like Home Alone when forced. I enjoy one and only one aspect of The Santa Clause and it is David Krumholtz's character (BERNARD FOR THE WIN). Everyone in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is an asshole. I got tired of Nightmare Before Christmas a really long time ago, but maybe I should give it another test drive. What am I forgetting that I might care about?

"You can't tie a ribbon around a lullaby."

In other news:

-I never got to see District 9 or Inglorious Basterds, and movies need to stay in the theaters longer.

-Ask me for a word count whenever you see me cause I have to write a novel this semester. Right now we are up to 14,106. The problem is that my novel is definitely longer than the minimum but I don't know if I have the energy to go way above the minimum.

-I've been privy to the ups and downs of a fight with the boyfriend of a person whom I do not know. In other words, a girl in my dorm needs to take her phone conversations to her room and not the kitchen/lounge. Also, this is the worst dorm community I've lived with in terms of keeping the bathroom clean, ever. I think at this point the custodian is fed up and starting to cut corners when she cleans in the morning.

-I dropped to three classes. Never done that before, but I don't feel remotely guilty, and I also want to be a smartass and send emails to the professor with links to pages explaining why the grammar he kept correcting us on is actually right, and why some of the grammar he uses when he lectures is wrong. I just keep remembering that I don't have to do this one group project (which I was only doing with one other person because he was a dumbass and didn't try to balance out groups) and I feel very wonderful about that. Jesus, is there anything worse that school ever subjects you to than group projects that involve research? Just...no. Everybody has a completely different style of working when it comes to doing things like that and it nearly always ends up with one or two people pulling most of the weight. Just NO. GOD WHY.

-I think it's gross that Amanda Palmer is dating Neil Gaiman and I'm not sure I have an explanation for this.

-I don't think I can stop listening to Why?

-I'm ready for it to get cold so I can wear my thermal thumbhole shirts. Oh yeah.

"I can't hear you over the sound of how AWESOME I AM..."

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will post the answers to the questions (and the questions themselves) on your blog or journal.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions. And thus the endless cycle of the meme goes on and on and on and on.

Questions from _tehrin:

1. Favorite place to eat in Chambana?
Li'l Porgy's BBQ or Original House of Pancakes. For my birthday I often pick Kamakura. I really liked the Crepe Cafe on Green, but it closed. *pouts*

2. Favorite storyline in Heroes and why.
I'm up to having like eight eps left in S3 and oh, jeez. It seems like they're all good at some points and not at others. I really liked the presentation of Sylar's character when they first started developing him more in S1 (To-Do List: Kill Claire. Buy Mom a snowglobe.) and also when it took the whole non-linear turn starting at "Villains" showing his level of extreme remorse after the first time he killed somebody. I have a love/hate relationship with the Petrelli brothers rift. I think it was pretty gutsy of them to make Nathan do all these awful things but to an extent I don't find his point of view believable and I don't know how much more I can take.

3. If you could have one wish granted, what would it be?
Right now I can't help thinking I'd be happier if life would just slow down a whole lot.

4. Tell me something you're proud of (either about yourself or someone else).
I'm honestly pretty proud of all of my close friends. Sometimes I'm honestly floored by how compassionate and intelligent they are and I don't like to think about who I'd be if I'd never met them.

5. Seeing as we're still getting to know each other, what's something you think everyone should know about you?
Oh, I don't know. I hope to write fiction professionally. I can't figure out whether I'm atheist or agnostic. And I'm a twin, if you didn't know that yet.
